Eheh

You're so much better doing punk/indie/rock songs using ya guitar! :O

Give this up ;)

LupeGarcon responds:

Two steps ahead of you.

That's better :)

Now we're seeing your nicer side :D

(I left a review on another of your works).

Seems you have a good sense of humour too :)

Really nice song.

Face <(X_X)>

LupeGarcon responds:

I am a Goddamn riot.

Why do you feel the need to swear?

Is it part of your "act"? Why do we want you to have a go at us? You're no better than us.

Then again... The musics pretty awesome.

I'd never considered this type of music before- I'm gonna Favourite you :)

Reminds me of some Gorillaz songs but more rock.

Nice work!

Face <(X_X)>

LupeGarcon responds:

fuck

This plugins don't sound realistic :(

You can't help tell they're synths :(

And I've been trying to work out whether you a trying to make orchestral music or nostalgic video game music :)

That doesn't mean I don't like the song though, Except it's repetitive, even for a 1:00 song :)

Face <(X_X)>

I also think you rated my work harshly >.< (I.T.H.O.T.H.K) And hypocritically- Critically being the especially appropriate word.

WerewNC responds:

It's actually not so much the plugins' fault for sounding synthy as it is mine (although the sax synths are pretty bad.) I did an absolutely horrible job arranging this piece. I'm working on some public domain transcriptions that I haven't even added dynamics to yet, and they sound much more realistic than this so far with the same sound samples. The samples don't matter as much as how they're instrumented. (But better samples would help.)

This was mostly an experimental song so I could learn how to compose in software. So yeah, I was trying to make orchestral music and missed the mark.

It's repetitive for a one minute song 'cause I didn't put much thought into it's composition. The melody is the same eight bars repeated eight times in different keys by different instruments. I uploaded it so my user page wouldn't say I've contributed nothing to the site, and I might get constructive criticism. I would have uploaded a better piece, but I didn't want to load something I liked under a Creative Commons license at the time. (i.e. I uploaded my least favorite original piece. Funny, huh?)

I'd rearrange the instrumentation to make it sound better, but I'd rather work on other stuff than a composition that was experimental and repetitive to begin with. I used different samples for it earlier this month for the sake of learning how to use a SFZ file in LMMS on a piece I didn't care much about making perfect (to prevent frustration.)

I don't think I was harsh with my review of I.T.H.O.T.H.K., objectively speaking. I will say I generally don't return reviews that are that low unless I think the individual could possibly gain something from my review, and I'll never write a review that discourages someone from exploring their artistic side. Review scores are pretty pointless anyway if you asked me. The information contained within the review is much more insightful. Thanks for the review!

No no....

Omnifarm is right!

You work is good, but too repetitive. It is fact. 4:22 of different variations of the same riff.

That's why I haven't contacted you about help. I'd rather try to learn by myself and keep my creativity instead of learning how to make "acceptable" yet uninspiring music.

How about calling it Gr8-Bit ? :P

I'll admit, not the best name I've came up with :)

It was OK, but I could of just listened to one of your works to hear them all.

Face <(X_X)>

djresset responds:

i started yesterday with a a better version and more variations

Wow...

It's like almost as good as Daft Punk!

(They made the Tron OST).

Good work!

Face <(X_X)>

Mmmmhmmm NICE!

What Program do you use? It can't be FL9... Cubase? Or is it that Mac crap.... Logic :P

Either way, it's really nice, why the hell has someone rated this 0?

I like this kind of stuff.

My only issue that it doesn't loop that smoothly.

Favourited!

Face <(X_X)>

SalientAlien responds:

Thank you! I see what you mean about the looping... the timing's ok, it just sounds a little unnatural... not an easy fix without a rewrite. Oh well :P Still not bad for a title screen or credit screen.

I used Reaper with a couple of VSTi's... Edirol's orchestral and EZDrummer. Love the timpani patch ^_^

Nah...

This isn't traditional techno. This is just strange stuff.

IN MY OPINION.

Of course, I know that some people like this stuff. But no one I know does.

It's weird, doesn't make you want to dance, gets annoying and is repetitive. You could make this into a 20 second loop.

NOTE: I am not being ignorant, I understand that this itself is a style of music. I HAVE heard a lot of this kind of stuff, and therefore I'll rate it a 7.

But like I implied, I try to steer clear of this kind of stuff.

It's what you;d hear when you were high.

Face <(X_X)>

AliceMako responds:

Well that's still a rather high mark for something you don't like so thank you graciously :D

I'm going to come across as obstinate but i'm under the impression you'll forgive me anyway, it's tekno not techno. Kinda like how occultists make a big deal about magic and magick being two different things :3

And you're totally right, this piece isn't traditional by any stretch of the imagination, just my rendition of something i've heard on a number of occasions which the feedback i'm getting suggests i could do a hell of a lot better and obviously needs a lot more work which i didn't (and won't xP) bother with cus i like it in all it's horrific lameness.

Thanks again <3

I dunno...

Hmm... It sounds like what you'd hear when... I dunno...

When you were... hmmm...

High?

Just a wild guess >.<

Face <(X_X)>

P.S Imagine hearing this with Agnry Faic nodding away at you all of a sudden :3

AliceMako responds:

Having a flashback, in my case :3

Let's call it an educated guess shall we?

So you saw faic too? Good then it's not just me <3
