I am not entirely clear on how this works

However, I do recognize that mastering is an issue when live. Everything is too loud.

But I don't give a damn about the final result, I am just listening to the sounds.

Ok so.... it kinda builds up... I just realised, your music would be good in films :D

This could be the credits for something. Whereas other pieces could be.. .Well, you have something for everything :D

I can't really fault your music, so I'm going to try to be more critical in future :D

Maybe the bass doesn't sound great at the reeeeeeally high notes? Maybe :)

Really nice to listen to the whole thing through, it's like a little journey.

At the end, you go "ahhh". Why am I using so many metaphors and theories and evading practical advise? Maybe it's because it's the 28th night I've stayed u ptill around 1am, and at the moment it's 1:44am :D

Anyway, I cannot wait for more.

I feel like my reviews are just an insult, and I should be paying you >.<

Oh well, I suppose I'm gonna have to put up with the guilt :(

haha no worries man, admittedly this was a bit more experimental. I've been trying to see if I can hold my own on a solo set and it's get boring if it's just standard loop then solo over loop.
It's difficult to explain how this works without showing you in person. I was going to start making performance videos and putting them on youtube, but for that to work I need to find my camera =P
I'd recommend you listen to this on the soundcloud page as it is better quality, or come along to a gig =P what I like about this song the most is that's different every time I play it.

For some reason...

It makes you want to be able to make that sound. Wowowowowowoowooowowowowowowowowowowo wowowowowowowowow. Cause it sounds happy. It sounds like it's having a good time. You're jealous. It can fly, you can't. It's swooping around, in glee, saying "cmon- I can't wait forever!"

And you're desperate, but you have to let go and say "I can fly".

YOU HAVE TO!

The echoing drums add anticipation, and the wavy synth isn't repetitive. Only the lower pattern could of been better.

Really nice and simple. I'm going to say for the prupose of my commentary that the vocies heard mid-way through the song were newsreaders talking about reports of a "flying child" circling the big ben at midnight :D

I hope you don't scorn this slightly unhelpful review :D

the voice heard halfway through (and quietly throughout the whole song) is actually a bit of Eddie Izzard stand up comedy talking about Empires ('Do you have a flag?')
It is simple admittedly, it was put together fairly quickly and without much thought =P

This time a proper use of guitar :D

Your really good at melody making, and that piano is kinda acceptable- It sounds a little concert-y.

Goddam it, I LOVE how unconventional you are. I'm having to put all of my previous conceptions out of my mind for you! Your combination of instruments is extraordinary :)

However, after the start- No progressions? No Drops? Just the slow addition of a little bass? No reappearing guitar? Disappointing!

You are naughty, and must learn!

thank you for that :) and i know, one of my weak points is, once i start im being creative for like 5 minutes and then... all of it disappears in a puff of nothing :D also, my speakers arent that good. could use professional studio speakers but that would be too expensive at the moment :)
nevertheless, thank you for your motivation. im gonna try to finish some projects i started now :) well, after i slept of course :)

edit: i think the compression is a little too hard on this one :-/

P.S., it could of been better, contrary to Greencheekyconure's belief.

The Pizzacato (Forgot how to spell it) strings didn't work, try Sticcato- They have a similar effect but less cheap sounding. And the Electric Guitar was a bit strange, in fact, doing strings, electric guitar and an organ was a bit strange, but hey- SOMEHOW it worked :D

Ima learn Flash to feature this track, and also listen to some more of your work.

im using logic uhm uh logic uh the not pro thingy... whats it called again... whatever and im trying to improve and learn. thats, btw, not an organ but a deep synth bass :)

yeah, i know! i was kinda surprised myself an eguitar fits in there :D but i really need to do something with the song, its pretty old and i didnt know how to use logic properly back then :)

Of course this is NG material!

For Movies though, not Games :)

It's nice to hear lyrics in your music too, and Molly's voice (if that's Molly singing) has a bright yet dreamy voice, which works with this laid back song. The only thing is though, it doesn't sound as sad as maybe you wanted it too, it could be used in a scene with a couple looking up at the stars, and the synth at the end could be them floating off into space together :D

Loving the reverse (hits)? I think they are. If you don't tell me within a day, I'm downloading the track and reversing the song :P In fact, I may download all of your tracks, to listen to em :)

Also, maybe the lyrics could of had some work, so unfortunately 2 stars are being knocked off for the afore mentioned flaws. However, when you bring in lyrics to a song, you suddenly have a lot more work on your hands, so good job.

Can I just say to people, if you download, leave a review! On many of our (FKPs) tracks we have quite a few downloads, but no reviews! Tell him why you downloaded it (for example- if you used it for something) as I'm sure he'd love to see what you used it for. Never mind reviews about why you rated it low too!

Anyway, gonna keep listening to all of your current tracks, and I look forwards to any upcoming ones. I hope to completely use all of my character limit on one of your tracks one day!

thanks for the review. I'll be honest when I wrote it I didn't really have movies in mind =P but admittedly the lyrics aren't the best, I was trying to be simple.
The sounds you're talking about are harmonics played on the bass, copied, then reversed. The original is panned left and the reversed harmonics are panned right (or vice versa, I can't quite remember!)
